Zelltec Construction was appointed to deliver the full refurbishment of a three-storey retail property, located on a pedestrianised shopping street in the heart of Cambridge. Surrounded by notable historic architecture, the project required a sensitive approach, balancing structural upgrades with careful restoration of traditional features.

  • Installation of fully compliant access scaffolding to external elevations

  • Preparation of an itemised schedule of repairs for windows, doors, shopfront, roof tiles, rafters and brickwork, agreed with contract administrators and delivered by in-house trades

  • Timber care repairs, splicing or full replacement carried out in line with the agreed schedule

  • Specialist refurbishment of basement pavement lights, sourcing original light blocks to exactly match damaged units

  • Installation of structural steels, timbers and lintels as directed by structural engineers’ reports

  • Installation of a damp-proofing system to the basement

  • Installation of acoustic and fire insulation to each floor

  • Redecoration of all external joinery and metalworks, including fire escape staircase, hoppers and downpipes

  • Redecoration to all internal areas in preparation for tenant fit-out
